About me

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and look at my photos.

My name is Zeid Abussaud. I am originally from Saudi Arabia. However, I was born in the beautiful island of Bahrain on January the 18th, 1990 to two loving parents and two wonderful elder brothers.

At the age of 13, my dad gifted me a simple Olympus film camera, and ever since then, my passion for photography started. I enjoy freezing a moment of time to convey a message or an emotion. My passion has led me to participate in over 25 exhibitions across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, New Zealand, and the United States. I held my first (and only to date) personal exhibition titled ‘Whispers of Light’ in Dunedin, New Zealand in 2009.

The desire to “change the world” and make it a better place led me to study medicine in New Zealand. I successfully graduated with my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in December 2014 from the University of Otago. Since my 4th year as a medical student, I fell in love with the human brain and decided that neurosurgery is where I belong. Ever since then, I’ve been pursuing that pathway. In 2019, I moved to the United Kingdom to continue pursuing my dream and to open new horizons for me and my family. I completed my Masters in Trauma Sciences in September 2020. Medicine has taken me away from photography a bit, but I always try to escape every now and then to capture images that express how I feel and that represent who I am as a human, as a photographer, and as a doctor.

I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy taking them.

Best wishes
Zeid
